This was my second trial at creating Sophie's design. We actually timed ourselves this time and I did get myself running out of time. We used the same products as we did in the first trial however as Sophie told me last time to use less product on the eyes and lips and blend them out more to create a smoky blended effect an I tried doing that during this trial.
I used less of the darker pink eye shadow on the crease and blended it out more and did the same with the purple as well. To make sure I have enough time to complete the whole look I used a piece of paper as a stencil. I did this to make sure the line that goes across the forehead is straight and also it consumes less time as we only have an hour and ten minutes for the timed assessment. During the last practice session I used black supra color on the corners of the lips.
This turned out really dark and kind of went over the whole lips as the red did not really show through it. This time I used the illamasqua black shadow and placed it in the corners of the lips. This product was really pigmented and I used a little in the corners and blended it more to get a more softer look rather than a really harsh and not blended in look.
I went over the eyes with the white supra color as the base and set it with powder, however even though I set it with powder it still creased when I applied the pink shadow over the lids. I will avoid doing this for our next practice session and see if it turns out better that way.
As I said in the beginning that we timed ourselves for this practice session, I completed everything in the hour and ten minutes apart from the bottom lashes. Sophie did say that we could leave the bottom lashes out if it consumes more time. However, we will have another practice session to make sure I get everything done in time as Sophie would like her design to come out.
Looking at the images I think the design's final outcome was better than last time. I also think that I need to be a little quicker with the application, although I do not want to rush the straight line and blending it at the bottom as I need to make sure that it is even from all sides and doe not look wonky at the top as well as the bottom.
For me that is the most crucial, time consuming and the part of the look that stands out the most, so I need to make sure that I get this step right otherwise it will ruin the whole look.
