White Base
- For the white base I used the illamasqua white base.
- I applied it using a foundation brush and blended it all out using a kabuki brush.
- I then set it with powder and lightly brushed out any excess loose powder.
- I made sure I set the eyes properly as I did not want them to crease. In any areas that I thought the powder made the are dry and patchy, I slightly blended that in using circular motions with a soft brissel brush.
- I also went with the white base on and in the ears and also on the neck.
White Brows
- To create white eyebrows I used white supra color.
- I put some product on the back of my hand using a spatula.
- I than rolled a mascara wand onto the product on my hand.
- I then applied this to the brows brushing the hair back and forth to get the white color on them.
- The brow on the right side of the face had a visible white line on top of the brow.
- This was because the mascara wand was touching the skin.
- For the brow on the left side, I held the mascara wand in an upward position.
- I then slightly went through the hairs without the mascara wand touching the skin.
- I found that this did cover the brow hairs and it was much neater as I did not get any excess product on the skin around the brow.
White Lashes
- To create the white lashes I used white supra color and the illamasqua skin base.
- I got my partner to close her eyes.
- Using an angled brush, holding it flat I applied the white supra color to the roots of the lashes and feathered it outwards to the tips.
- I did this because I found it easier as it covered the roots without any product getting onto the lids and getting the mascara wand that close could hurt the model.
- Then using the illamasqua skin base, I applied it to the top of the lashes using a mascara wand.
- I got my model to then open her eyes and I applied it upwards.
- On the bottom lash line I again used the angled brush to get close to the roots and then used the mascara wand to apply the product onto the lashes.
Cheeks
- I used a mixture of pink a red powder blush's to create the rouge cheeks.
- I scrapped of the product from the palette and got some on the back of my hand.
- I then got my model to smile and I applied this on the apple of the cheeks.
- I used slight circular motions as I wanted to make sure I place the blush evenly on both sides as well as the product color as I wanted it to be a soft look.
Lips
- For the lips I used an angled brush to outline the shape of the lips.
- I then filled in the lips with a red colored lipstick.
- Next I took tissue paper and got my model to blot her lips on it as this would remove the excess product and color.
- Using a powder brush, I then powdered the lips as I wanted a soft subtle look.
Evaluation
Overall I was pleased with the outcome of the whole look. However, I found blocking the eyebrows the trickiest and most difficult. This is because the finished look had to be the eyebrows covered and neat without any product on the skin around the eyebrow. After trying and failing, I tried again and discovered that the mascara wand has to be held at an upright angle and it should not touch the skin as only the hairs are getting covered. We then worked as a three as Julia's partner had to leave.
