Lady In Waiting- 3 Face Chart Designs

Knowing the story of Lettice Knollys and after gaining inspiration from many sources I came up with 3 designs for my lady in waiting.

  • This was my first design I created using the gold supra color.
  • I solely based this look from the Pat McGrath gold 001 inspiration.
  • I would have a pale looking base for which I would use the illamasqua skin base.
  • I would contour the cheeks with gold as well as I want to have a shimmery glow that would catch the light.
  • This would represent Lettice's porcelain skin.
  • On the eyes I would also use gold supra color and drag this color outwards to the temples of the head.
  • I dragged this outwards for the fact that situations were getting out of control in her life. I want the white lashes for it to have the Elizabethan touch.
  • I also used gold on the lips and this became a monochromatic look.
  • Looking at the overall look I asked myself is this too much gold for one look, as I also wanted to add darker colors for Lettice's cunning nature.

I tried creating the design above which was all fully the gold look. I used the gold aqua color to create this rather than the supra color as I found that the aqua color gives a stronger and more bold color and has a heavier coverage. I wasn't really satisfied with this look as I thought that it looked too plain. I also felt that even though the gold in the look represents Lettice's wealth and beauty it doesn't really reflect her darker side that she had and I really wanted this to be a part of my final design. In contrast to the gold I really liked the look of the white lashes. I will carry on the gold and white lashes by incorporating them into my next designs but looking at the outcome of the this look I will not have this particular look as my final design.

  • My second design was based on the inspiration from the lace design and the black swan makeup.
  • I would have a pale base not entirely white but pale.
  • On the eyebrows I re created the shape from my inspirations.
  • I used purple as it is a royal color and slightly blended in some black to show the characters darker side.
  • Using black eyeliner I drew on a lace pattern on top of this shape.
  • The design would go over the eyebrows so it would be a no brow look. The lashes would be white in this look as well.
  • I also want purple contouring on the cheeks as this will give a very sunken effect almost as if Lettice's life was sinking.
  • I also used purple on the lips and would.
  • I also created the lace design on the neck as this would represent the high collar and almost be a reflection of the lace pattern on the face.

  • My third design is pretty much a mixture of both the first and second design.
  • I would have a pale base for this look.
  • I would use the same colors in the eyes with the same lace pattern and white lashes.
  • I would contour the cheeks with purple for the same reason.
  • However, in this look I will have gold lips with a little of purple in the middle.
  • Looking at this look I feel that the purple represents a more witch like and sneaky personality that Lettice had.
  • I would also include gold into the lace design on the neck.
  • I will use this as my final design for my new Elizabethan.
  • In my opinion I feel like the gold lips are overpowering the whole look but I can't say this for sure until I have tried it out.
