In The Role Of The Designer/Assessor

Peer Assessing 

Looking at Sophie's overall performance I graded her in the upper second level between B1 and B3. This is because I thought that working with Sophie was a pleasure. The communication we both had between each other was fantastic and that is what has enabled us to have three practice sessions before the final timed assessment.

Having these practice sessions was a plus point as we changed quite a few things that were beneficial for both Sophie and I before we got to the timed assessment.
During the timed assessment I like how organised Sophie was with everything and she knew what she was doing in the sense that what step comes after the other.

Another thing I liked about Sophie on the day of the timed assessment was the fact that she kept up with all the health and safety rules. Coming onto the design I was really pleased with the outcome of my design that Sophie created.I was happy with the outcome of the look. However, I think that even though she uses her own initiative at some things like she did with the brush strokes on my neck, she kind of struggled with the lips as she overdrew them quite a bit.

She always said that she is so bad with lips, In my opinion Sophie has many skills and all she needs is a little more practice with precise things like lips. She started of doing them well, but as she saw the shape was uneven in some places she overdrew the shape on the other side.This is not a major problem however. with my look I wanted the lips to be subtle and not the center of attraction of the whole look.

At the last practice session we applied mascara to the lashes before applying the gold, this gave the lashes a more voluminous look and the gold stood out more. I would have liked the lashes to have a more bold look for the final assessment as well.
Looking at the images overall, I am pleased with the job Sophie did and how she handled different situations.  I believe that Sophie has a lot of potential and looking at our communication, the effort she put in and the outcome of the final assessment is the reason I graded Sophie a B2.
